U14 Girls Team
Our 7th and 8th graders will typically practice three times a week after school at Ft Couch MS. Home games are some Friday nights and Saturday mornings at Boyce MS, with away games scattered throughout the week and some weekends depending on the opponents field availability. As the season progresses and more Friday/week night games are added, practices can go down to once or twice a week depending on the game schedule for the week.
At the U14 age group, the games are played full field 11 v 11 + goalies. Typically at this age group, we have had two teams of 7th/8th graders split into A & B teams per league requirements. The girls are generally assessed during the first few weeks of practice so that the teams can be formed. As an organization, we have had non-parent coaches and help from the high school coaches to evaluate the girls and determine team splits. This removes parent coaches and board members from the process for fair and objective team formation.
